Description of the path: next to the Arêtes indoor swimming-pool (F) ( 25m pool, sauna, fencing hall and Teppan Yaki restaurant ), take a narrow path (1) leading down to the Brandt Farm (2); this very old farm is typical of canton Neuchâtel and has been transformed into a restaurant (Renaissance façade, wood-panelled room with diamond-shaped designs, huge fireplace in the former kitchen). A steep tarmac road leads up to the former Auberge de Mont-Cornu (3) From the attractive patio-garden, enjoy a unique view of the town, the valley and the Meix Musy, which is just over the border in France. Walk along the edge of a field, to reach the Chalet Heimelig (4), a former dairy, and walk down to the bus-stop in Le Cerisier (G). Cross the main road where it emerges from the tunnel under the Vue-des-Alpes, and go up to the camp-site and Ecureuil restaurant (5). Pass the 1887 covered reservoir (6) containing water from the Areuse gorge, 20 km away. The walk ends in the area named Les Foulets (7) from which you can see unusual views of the town with its checkerboard layout. A little lower, towards the north, you will pass the Mélèzes outdoor swimming pool and skating rink.
